OphthoLegal was founded by board-certified ophthalmologists who have firsthand experience managing the demands of a high-volume medical practice while navigating the complex requirements of California’s QME/AME system.
California faces an increasing demand for qualified, board-certified ophthalmology experts to assist in resolving disputes between injured workers and employers. This includes complex matters involving the Department of Labor, the Subsequent Injury Benefits Trust Fund (SIBTF), and cases involving multi-system injuries. Yet most clinical practices do not have the internal capacity to handle the strict administrative processes and timelines required for effective participation in the medicolegal system. Our goal is to support ophthalmologists across California by providing services that streamline medicolegal practice operations.
With extensive knowledge of the QME/AME process and a physician-led team, OphthoLegal equips specialists with the structure and support needed to deliver objective, well-supported evaluations that meet California’s highest regulatory standards.
